This is Absolutely Insane

I find myself sometimes saying that when thinking about some of the wild ideas I have. However, that’s what it’s all about… DREAMING. At GPS, we often talk about dreaming big as we go along our journeys. How do we dream? How do dreams become big? A reality? What could they turn into if they were discussed amongst a group?

There is a tendency to forget about focus groups as one gets busy. I guess the word ‘focus group’ is probably a boring term that people may not want to hear. Honestly, it doesn’t sound fun to me. Maybe we need to change the name to something like grillin and chillin, swingin and missin (that’s my golf game summed up), or maybe its castin and laughin. Now that sounds a little more exciting to me. Getting together, having fun and dreaming big.

It’s important to make time to get out and discuss new ideas with others. What might others be doing differently than us? What process or technology has been implemented for success? What has been a failure? What could have been done differently? What needs to change? What’s the next big thing?

A group might get together a couple or multiple times a year. Maybe the discussions revolve around a topic that you do a little digging on. Maybe there is some suggested reading material to get thoughts flowing. The goal is getting others together to have some fun and discuss off the wall ideas as a group.

I have learned along the way that you can sometimes talk yourself out of a great idea. However, what if somebody heard you and said that is crazy… but excellent. Now you have some energy behind it. This energy might bring more ideas. More ideas could turn into an implementation strategy. Maybe your idea is great for somebody else or maybe their idea is great for you.
